LivWell Cares

LivWell Cares is the philanthropic arm of LivWell Enlightened Health, through which the company directs its charitable activities and community engagement efforts.

LivWell Cares is a program designed to work hand in hand with the communities where we operate both as good neighbors and as fully-involved partners in community development. Whether it’s neighborhood clean-up activities, charitable drives, participating in community events, or just being there to support our friends in need, we are committed to helping however we can. Stuff the Truck

In November 2019, LivWell Enlightened Health, announced a $10,000 charitable contribution to the Food Bank for Larimer County to advance their mission to provide food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programs. This donation aligns with LivWell’s community goals of aiding those in need and making a positive impact in the communities that we serve.

Garden City PTSD Monument

In October 2019, The Town of Garden City commissioned a statue to honor members of the Military, Veterans, and First Responders who have lost the fight with or are currently battling Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). LivWell was proud to donate $10,000 to this worthy endeavor.

Rise Above Suicide Awareness Benefit

In September 2019, LivWell was a proud supporter of Pueblo’s Annual Rise Above Suicide Awareness Benefit. Proceeds raised were donated to the Friendly Harbor Community Center, a hub for mental wellness in Pueblo, Colorado. We currently operate two stores in Pueblo.

Montbello community garden

In July 2018 LivWell volunteers participated in an event to support Montbello's largest community garden! The volunteer event was organized by the Marijuana Industry Group and Montbello Organizing Committee/FreshLo Initiative, who took the first steps in their ongoing partnership to address healthy lifestyle, fresh food initiatives, and food deserts in Montbello. The industry group delivered over 7,000 lbs of soil to Montbello’s largest activated community garden, in support of the FreshLo Initative. The Marijuana Industry Group and Permagreen Organics Company collaborated to provide the organic soil for the eight community gardens, with plans to unload another 30,000 lbs of soil within the next month.

Denver Music Advancement Fund

In 2018 LivWell proudly contributed $5,000 to the new Denver Music Advancement Fund. As part of the Denver Music Strategy, which is intended to amplify Denver as a global music city, the Fund will provide grants for new projects that spur growth in the local music business and help music continue its role as an agent for economic vibrancy, education, community innovations, and positive social change.

LivWell Cares formally provided a $10,000 donation to the Beloved Community Village here in Denver!

The Colorado Village Collaborative - a community organization founded by members of Denver Homeless Out Loud, The Interfaith Alliance of Colorado, Beloved Community Mennonite Church, and residents of the Beloved Community Village – recently launched Denver’s first “tiny home village” as an alternative solution to the problem of homelessness.

Designed to help address the twin crises of homelessness and an extreme housing shortage, Beloved Community Village includes eleven 8-foot by 12-foot shelters, as well as a communal kitchen, bathroom, and shower facilities, on land leased from the Urban Land Conservancy at 38th and Walnut streets. On July 21, fourteen previously homeless residents moved into the new Beloved Community Village, where they have been able to rediscover talents, renew their purpose, and restore their dignity.

LivWell approached AdCom to inquire how much, if any, information they had regarding the marijuana industry as it relates to laws and operations. After determining there was a need for such training, LivWell tailored a training program specifically for AdCom as it relates to their duties as the first entity citizens contact for police, fire, and rescue operations. Over the course of two weeks LivWell provided four-hour training to fifty AdCom employees covering security, compliance, safety, and the science of the endocannabinoid system. Based on the success of this training, LivWell has already begun discussions to train first responders from other Counties.

Jackie Reynolds, the AdCom Training Supervisor, stated: ” I thought it was great! So much information about the industry that I had no idea or had even thought about before. I think that was pretty much the consensus of the group from the talk that was going around anyway. You all related the presentation very specific for our group and a lot of people were impressed with that.”

In honor of Memorial Day, from 5/31/16 – 6/3/16 LivWell Enlightened Health made history by offering Colorado veterans full bud ounces of high cannabidiol (CBD) flower for just 1 penny. Over 8,000 individual ounces were sold for the nominal price of one penny, resulting in one of the largest cannabis promotions in history with more than $800,000 worth of cannabis provided to veterans across Colorado. “We provided ounces of cannabis that have a particularly high CBD concentration, which has demonstrated potential benefits for those who suffer from PTSD and other physical ailments,” said John Lord, CEO of LivWell. “This is just our way of showing appreciation to all of our men and women in uniform.”

LivWell Enlightened Health proudly sponsored The Clinic Charity Classic Golf Tournament at Arrowhead Golf Club on August 26, 2016. Proceeds from the Charity Classic, an annual event sponsored predominately by cannabis companies, go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In addition to sponsoring the tournament, LivWell also fielded a team of 4 and finished in 4th place. LivWell was honored to sponsor such a great event for such an important cause.

LivWell has partnered with the Cortez Lions Club to sponsor events benefiting needy children in the community. LivWell was proud to sponsor the Cortez Lions Club Benefit Magic Show, the proceeds for which will go towards providing eye exams, eye care, and glasses for children and other individuals in Cortez and the surrounding areas in need of such services.

On April 20th, 2016, LivWell chose to celebrate our industry’s 420 holiday by Spreading 420 Love. This involved a commitment to donate $1 for every customer we saw during the holiday to the Fitch Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping veterans achieve active lifestyles through the provision of adaptive athletic programs and events. LivWell ultimately donated $5,000 on behalf of the nearly 5,000 customers who shopped with us on 4/20 to the Fitch Foundation. LivWell also partnered with the Fitch Foundation to sponsor the Colfax Marathon on 5/14/16, during which the Fitch Foundation won the award for Best Charity Tent.

For the past few years LivWell Enlightened Health has been a proud sponsor of the Garden City Business Association’s annual Garden City Bootleggin’ BBQ. With food, drinks, shopping, and more from all the city’s local businesses, the Bootleggin’ BBQ is a terrific community event for all of Garden City. The Garden City Business Association is a non-profit corporation dedicated to improving Garden City’s image and increasing awareness about the town, itself. Local Garden City business owners created this group in October 2012 with the support of the Garden City town board.

LivWell Enlightened Health proudly sponsors the Raw Hinies Cycling group, which rides in the Colorado Bike MS tour to support the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. Made up of families and friends, including riders and volunteers diagnosed and living with MS, LivWell is honored to do its part to help raise money for such a worthy cause. Raw Hinies has been the #1 fundraising team in Colorado two years running.

In 2016 LivWell Enlightened Health teamed up with the Denver Film Society to support all of their amazing events throughout the year. From the Reel Social Club Shorts Festival held in May at the SIE Film Center to the annual Denver Film Festival in October, LivWell is honored to help DFS bring film and the arts to our Denver community.

LivWell Enlightened Health was a proud sponsor of the 2015 AIDS Walk, organized by the Colorado Health Network. The Rocky Mountain region’s oldest one-day HIV and AIDS fundraiser, AIDS Walk was held at Cheesman Park in Capitol Hill complete with entertainment, food, and beverages for the approximately 8,000 people in attendance. Along with sponsoring, LivWell fielded a team of dedicated employees so that we could do our part to support this great cause.

LivWell Enlightened Health has sponsored the Denver PrideFest and Colorado Springs PrideFest for the past few years, and we are proud to be involved in these events which recognize the LGBT members of our communities and celebrate their rich history. With more than 350,000 people from across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region in attendance at the Denver PrideFest, alone, these events have become one of the most popular festivals in the region.

This September LivWell Enlightened Health is sponsoring the Artocade Art Car festival and parade. Organized by the Trinidad Tourism Board, Artocade is a wacky and wonderful festival that celebrates the creative energy of Trinidadians amongst the historical Trinidad architecture. With art exhibitions, entertainment, food, drinks, and an autocade/parade, it’s easy to see why Artocade is a local favorite.

LivWell Enlightened Health is proud to sponsor the Second Annual Mancos Valley Summer Brewfest. Proceeds from the Brewfest will benefit Mancos Valley Resources, the Pay It Forward Fund, and Mancos Food Share. Along with all of the local brewers, LivWell is delighted to be a part of this fantastic event, with food, drinks, live music, and fun for all of Durango.

With lowrider bikes and trikes, mini trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, street rods, luxury and muscle cars, and more, the 2016 Fantasy Kruizer’s Car and Bike Show in Trinidad is a terrific event that LivWell Enlightened Health is proud to sponsor.

LivWell Enlightened Health is a proud sponsor of the 25th anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail Days Festival in Downtown Trinidad this June. The festival includes historic reenactments, games, gold-panning, food, drink, and more. Organized by the Trinidad/Los Animas County Chamber of Commerce, of which LivWell is a member, the Santa Fe Trail Days Festival supports local businesses and celebrates the unique and colorful history of this Old West town.

The 2016 Trinidaddio Blues Fest celebrates great blues from around the world, and LivWell Enlightened Health is delighted to be a sponsor. With Grammy Award winning artists like Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, as well as bands from throughout the region and local Trinidad musicians, Trinidaddio is a terrific event for the whole community.

In 2015 LivWell Enlightened Health sponsored the Underground Music Showcase in Denver. Held at venues throughout South Broadway, the UMS is organized by the Denver Post every year. Proceeds from the 2015 event benefited the Denver Post Community and Youth on Record, an organization that empowers teens in some of Denver’s most vulnerable communities to make life choices that positively impact their future by teaching them to develop the tools, inspiration, and wherewithal to succeed in today’s world and to become leaders of tomorrow.

In September, 2014 LivWell Enlightened Health sponsored the Colorado Symphony Orchestra’s “Red Rocks on a High Note” end-of-summer celebration at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Showcasing Colorado Symphony’s musicianship and innovation, the event combined traditional and contemporary works into an accessible, exciting program that delighted music lovers of all kinds.

LivWell Enlightened Health supports the Colorado Department of Transporation’s efforts to ensure our roads and highways remain clean and litter-free by participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program. With our sponsorship, CDOT is able to fund cleaning initiatives that maintain the pristine beauty of our state.

Founded to provide support, resources, education and access to cannabis for parents of kids living with illness or disability, the CannAbility Foundation is a terrific organization that LivWell Enlightened Health proudly supports. As true believers in the healing power of cannabis, LivWell strongly supports efforts to help improve education and access to cannabis for patients across the country.

Education is a cornerstone of LivWell Enlightened Health’s mission. To that end LivWell was a proud sponsor of the Denver Public Library’s Book Lover’s Ball, an event to celebrate the Denver Public Library’s achievements and to encourage new generations of learners.

LivWell Enlightened Health was delighted to participate in the 2016 MUDD Volleyball Tournament, benefiting March of Dimes. This organization promotes healthy babies and pregnancies, works to prevent premature births and birth defects, and supports moms and families in need.

LivWell Enlightened Health was honored to do our part to support 12 year old D’Marus (Mursy) Brice and the Mursy Fund, dedicated to helping families with disabled children raise money for medication, treatment, and quality of life improvements.

LivWell Enlightened Health has teamed up with the GREEN TEAM to help support EKAR: Jewish Urban Farm and Garden in their efforts to provide our community with fresh, organic produce.

LivWell Enlightened Health locations across the state collected more than 700 hygiene products, items of clothing, food, and other necessities from employees and customers in partnership with Denver Relief Consulting. These items were donated to the Denver Rescue Mission, Jewish Family Services, Bayaud Enterprises, and the Harm Reduction Action Center to benefit those in need in the winter season.

On July 21, fourteen previously home-less residents moved into the new Beloved Community Village, where they have been able to rediscover talents, renew their purpose, and restore their dignity. LivWell Cares provided the final donation needed to help close out funding for the project and ensure it was completed debt-free.

LivWell Cares fielded a team of volunteers to help complete home and neighborhood improvement projects in the Swansea neighborhood. These projects include graffiti removal, landscaping, painting, yard work, or other projects identified by the residents.

LivWell Cares was a proud sponsor of the 3rd Annual Rocky Mountain Vet Fest, which celebrates the contributions made by Veterans of US Military service living through the Rocky Mountain West.

Pike's Peak Suicide Prevention offers a range of services to youth and adults as well as training groups on suicide prevention. LivWell Cares contributed a matching grant to Pike's Peak Suicide Prevention as part of the annual Give! campaign organized by the Colorado Independent.

In May of 2018, LivWell sponsored the first ever 303 Music Fest. Showcasing some of Denver's best local up-and-coming artists, 303 Music Fest is a one-of-a-kind event celebrating Denver musical talent. Eighty percent of all proceeds for the event benefit Youth On Record, creating a better tomorrow for local youth and, in turn, the Colorado community as a whole.

In May of 2018 around thirty LivWell employees volunteered at the annual District 7 neighborhood cleanup in Denver. Our staff helped the community pick up trash, clear debris, and beautify the neighborhood alongside community members and Councilman Jolon Clark.

LivWell is proud to support and promote Lyft's 320 Movement, a program in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Transportation and the Colorado State Patrol designed to ensure cannabis consumers arrange for sober transportation during the 4/20 holiday and whenever they consume cannabis.

LivWell was one of the main sponsors for the Denver Fashion Weekend, Denver's largest fashion showcase featuring emerging designers, local boutiques, national brands, hairstylists, makeup artists, and models. As part of our ongoing efforts to support the communities in which we operate, this sponsorship allowed us to support local designers, stylists, businesses, and models, and celebrate our communities' talented residents.

Students in the marketing program at the University of Denver's Daniels School of Business work with real businesses as part of their degree. LivWell was honored to work with groups of DU students and present them with real-world marketing challenges that they could tackle as part of their course work.

The Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation organization advocates for Denver citizens by bringing together, informing, and empowering Denver registered neighborhood organizations to actively engage in addressing city issues. LivWell was proud to sponsor INC's annual awards dinner as they celebrated a successful year of community support and advocacy.

Ahead of the 2016 elections, LivWell partnered with New Era Colorado to register voters at our dispensary locations in Denver so that they could make their voices heard in the electoral process. New Era Colorado is the leading voice for young people in politics around the state.

Relay for Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. LivWell was proud to sponsor the Relay for Life in Los Animas County and support the incredible work done by American Cancer Society and their local chapters.

The Rocky Mountain Elk Fund is dedicated to ensuring the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitats and our hunting heritage. LivWell was one of the major sponsors for their 2017 Banquet, and we were honored to support such a worth cause.

In 2017 LivWell proudly supported Trinidad Autism Awareness's largest event ever to provide parents, educators, business owners, and community members with information on Autism and bring more resources and professionals to help provide services to families and loved ones with Autism.

For two years running, LivWell has supported the Children's Miracle Network fundraiser in concert with Costco. CMN Hospitals rely on donations and community support to provide the best care for kids by plugging the funding gaps many children's hospitals face so that they can save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
